The Devil and Same Sex Marriage

Yes, I put those words together in the title. Do I think they belong together? No. Then why have I written the title this way, you ask. I was looking at news reports from a local station on Facebook, and found an article where a Catholic Bishop in Illinois swears that the Devil made his state government pass a bill which will soon be a law that allows same sex marriage. This man is going as far as to hold an Exorcism at the same time Governor Pat Quinn signs the bill into law.

As someone who has a close personal history with the LGBT community (yes I am aware I have left out some of the letters there, but my memory is not so great these days, I apologize), I personally feel that this bishop, and any priests he gets to assist him, should spend a few weeks praying for forgiveness and offering up repentance. For in the Bible Jesus says: Love one another as I have loved thee. As well as: Judge not lest ye be judged. Oh, yes and this: Let he who is without sin cast the first stone.

God and his son were benevolent, caring, and kind. They wished no ill will on any. God wept when he had to punish his children. Jesus wept for humanity. The man died for his people. We are his people. All of us. At least that is what the Bible says. Does the church no longer recognize the Bible? Or have they become so Bigoted that they pick and choose which sections to flaunt to suit the occasion? It is a sad day for Christianity.

Those of you who know me well will be surprised to see references to "god" and "Jesus". Do not be. Just because I am Pagan, to be more direct Wiccan and have dedicated myself to Athena, Greek goddess of knowledge, does not mean I have any less respect for the Christian view point. Christianity is a very wide spread belief system. Everyone is bound to learn something of other religions in their lifetimes. I just happened to choose to know about many different ones on purpose. I find religion rather interesting.

Despite all of this, or rather because of it...perhaps a bit of both. I am a great supporter in accepting people for who they are as long as no one tries to force their way of life onto others. By force I mean following them down the road yelling at them, throwing bibles at them (I have personally had this happen to me), screaming that they will burn in hell for not having your beliefs or for ignoring you when you preach at them. If you see a chance to mention your beliefs by all means take it, but if the audience isn't interested, let it go OK? We can all get along better if we are more tolerant of each other. No one needs to try to turn everyone to seeing things exactly the same as them. The world would be exactly what Satan aimed for when, according to the Bible, he asked God to put him in charge of the earth so that man kind would do as he bid them in God's stead. Satan wanted everyone to basically be carbon copy, robots that did his will.

In closing, who ever you are, dear reader, please know I am glad you found my blog and I am glad you have read it. I enjoy getting to know people of all ages, genders, religions, races and any other difference you can think of. Variety is the spice of life and I enjoy a rich social life. God Bless, Merry Part Til We Meet Again, and all those other wonderful words of departure.

Phony Pet Rescue shut down in Kansas City, Missouri

First noted by this blogger in an online story from KMBC 9 News Kansas City, it has come to my attention that 40 dogs and 31 cats are now being kept in temporary conditions at one of the areas hardest working organizations. The KC Pet Project . This organization has helped many who were the victim of dumped animals, wild loose dogs, and has come to the aid of those seeking a new best friend. My own mother was the victim of TWO pregnant cats being dumped on her property for a total of nearly 20 cats after each had their litters. The KC Pet Project and the Kansas City Animal Control both aided her in catching and turning over the wild cats so they could be processed into the foster system to be tamed and cared for in preparation of good homes.  If I lived closer I would be a volunteer. As a student in college at the moment, I am fund-less to donate to the wonderful people. So I wrote this blog in the hopes that someone out there might just be longing for a critter like one of the many they have available. Or someone might be with another rescue that has a qualified adopter without a matching dog or cat. In fact I intend to link to some of these available pets in just a moment. For now, if you would like to make a cash donation or check their wish list, by all means, do.

Now for the fun part! Here I will share information about 4 dogs and 4 cats currently seeking new homes on their website.

I want to thank everyone who takes the time to read through this entry on my small blog. It means a great deal to everyone involved. If you can not help the rescue or adopt a pet yourself, be kind enough to share this information with anyone you know that may be looking for a good cause to help for the holidays or anyone looking for that special fur kid to come into their lives.
